Reminiscing: Dreamy Dreamy Hawaii

Several months ago, Landon's sweet parents took the whole family to Hawaii! We are definitely too spoiled, and so grateful to Layne and Jeannine for such a wonderful trip.  This was our first time leaving Livy overnight, but she loved staying with Uncle Dave and Aunt Tiffani. They we're so nice to watch her. We actually had a difficult time picking her up because she had become so attached.  Livy stayed busy and enjoyed non-stop attention from cousins. She even learned how to dip Oreos in milk, which is of course a necessary skill:) Here are a few pictures of us watching baseball/soccer games and getting together with my family in Spokane before we left Livy.

After crying our way home too Seattle(missing the little squish), we finished packing for our trip and boarded our flight for Kauai, Hawaii! Although we missed Livy, flying without a baby was so nice.  Our first stop was Bubba Burgers. And it was pretty delicious. Everything is better in Hawaii.  Seriously.

Something really funny had happened before we took this picture, but when you wait 5 months to write a blog post you just can't remember all the details.

After dinner we watched the sunset at Hanalei Bay. So beautiful. This is Landon with the Napali coast in the background.  Of course everything we saw made me want to watch Jurassic Park. Too epic.

The next morning we hiked to Queen's bath. It was amazing, and possibly my favorite part of the trip. But it's to hard to choose, all the scenery was much too wonderful and diverse.

Oh and we saw Sea turtles! Cute right! We actually jumped out in OPEN OCEAN somewhere around here to swim with them, which is a big deal for Landon's sister Jen and me.  We're both TERRIFIED of sharks.  It was awesome, but tricky getting back up on the rocks.

Here is Queen's bath! The tide was low, so it wasn't as deep as usual, but it was still so pretty. We had a lot of fun swimming in different pools and inlets.

Landon and Tyson went cliff diving. So brave.

Well I better get to bed, so I'll try to finish sharing the rest of our trip throughout this week.

Pals

I know Livy is making a weird face in this picture, but she adores her little friend Danton. They are always holding hands and giving hugs... or knocking each other over.  Too adorable right!

Stacking Blocks

Crafts and Cuteness!

This is Livy making a contact paper artwork.  I just grabbed a bunch of materials I had from our craft closet and Livy stuck them to the paper.  Next time we want to attach the contact paper to a window and make window art! She really seemed to love those curly Christmas ribbons!

Livy is also starting to color with markers.  Most of the time she likes to keep the lid on and pretend she is coloring, but she's starting to get it.  We love making projects together!

Watering

Livy loves to water our plants.  We don't have much, but she has taken care of our potted herbs wonderfully. She also loves to water the pavement and our feet. She hopes to be a pro gardener like Grandpa someday!

Reading Corner

Livy loves to get snugly in her reading corner.  She eases her way into a cozy position, which often means sitting in her container of books.  Sometimes she completely missing the pillows and snuggles against the wall or the floor.  She is so fun and we love reading and snuggling together.

Silly Liv Biv

Livy loves to use the knob on her puzzle piece as a binky! Too cute.  She is also taking her pet snail Gary for a walk.

Summer Fun

This summer we have had so much fun with Livy's little pals Kaden and Danton.  This week we went blueberry picking and finger painted in the front yard.  It was too fun! Of course Livy did not put ANY blueberries in the bucket because they all went in her mouth, but we still had a blast.  We had fun walking around with Anna and Danton and we are still loving the blueberries!

Here is Livy jamming a handful in her mouth!

Danton, what a little cutie right!

We also had a finger painting party yesterday afternoon! We had a blast and splashed around in the pool after the babies were all painted out.  Of course most of the paint was going into their mouths(I made the paint and its safe), but they made some interesting artworks too:)

Yesterday, I was wiping down one of Livy's toys with a wipe and she took the wipe and started doing it herself.  She loves it.  Now if I need to clean, I just give Livy a clothe and she walks around washing whatever I ask her to. So helpful!

Happy Birthday Liv Biv!

On June 24th, 2012 Livy turned 1 year old. Pretty crazy right!?! We have had so much fun watching her grow and develop this year and feel so happy to be her parents. Her little personality seems to become more distinct each day and we can already imagine how her somewhat defiant and stubborn little personality will help her accomplish amazing things. She is so loving and passionate and we really admire that about her.

Here are some of our favorite things Livy has done(and continues to do)this year:
Binky kisses-Landon puts the back of the binky in his mouth, leans in, and Livy brings her little face to his to suck on it and take it. Too precious.
Kisses- Livy's slobbery open mouth kisses. Sounds gross, but is seriously one of the sweetest things I've ever seen.
Squishy faces- Livy is pretty expressive and we love seeing her dramatic little faces.
Snuggling baby- Livy loves to snuggle with her baby doll. She started sleeping with the doll, and picks her up constantly.
Filling her stroller/walker with anything but her dolls- Livy loves to load her stroller with mega blocks, balls, puzzle pieces, or dinosaurs and take them around for a stroll.
Walking- Livy has been walking pretty well for the last couple weeks. She walks around with her little hands in front of her like a zombie. Who doesn't love that?
Reading- I often find Livy sitting by the bookshelf flipping through her picture/board books in a sweet and content manner. She especially loves to read them upside-down, or so it seems.
Swimming- Livy love love loves the beach. She crawls and walks right into the waves and unfortunately has experienced several mouth-fulls of murky Lake Washington water. Yuck!

A few weeks ago Livy's Grandma Jones, and aunts(Sami and Jenn) threw a super fun first birthday party, which we all enjoyed so much! We also loved seeing Tyson, Liz, Allison, and Ariel at the party, along with all the cutie cousins, and appreciate the gifts so much! It was a perfect summer water party and we loved being there. Livy and I were spoiled and got to visit with Papa and Grandma for the week and spend some time with Aunt Jenn before she left on her mission(She is serving as a missionary for our church.  She will be visiting and teaching the people of Costa Rica about Christ for the next 18 months! Awesome right!). Thanks again, we really loved seeing you and being there. We packed the week with so many fun things. Here are some photos from her party.
We went to a Bee's Game! Livy loved walking around with Papa.

We also went to the zoo, which was pretty awesome, especially Rocky Shores. Polar bears, seals, and sea lions, oh my! And check out this tiger cooling off in this pool. Epic right!
